Sometimes (maybe 10-15% of the time) it will fail to connect to the wireless network upon booting up the computer, thus you'll have to reboot the adapter a couple times to get it going. I've had a bunch of difference Netgear adapters and this model is one of the better ones, with a stronger reception and better speed. Has fairly strong reception, but it could have more. Enough other people do as indicated by the numbers of tech requests online since 2013. If you expect to be connected on boot, you may run into this problem. Maybe it will work with a different router but it doesn't back work with the Zy XEL "n" version very well. I put up with it for 6-7 months with no solution found online, but plenty of the same happening to others (do a search), before I just took an older dongle off another machine and replaced it. Attempting to connect to a ZyXel 11n router. Even a manual attempt from the wireless icon in the taskbar after bootup ALWAYS gives the error "Cannot connect to -." The dongle has to be unplugged, a 5-10 second wait, and then plugged back in before a connection can be made. I've tried both the Netgear program and stand alone device drivers on both a Win7 64-bit and a Win7 32-bit system. If you don't mind unplugging it after bootup and then plugging it back in EVERY TIME, it works fine.
